The case dimension is 38.40 × 47.34 mm, with a thickness of 11.68 mm, making it compact yet substantial on the wrist. 

Design and Craftsmanship

The case of the RM 72‑01 is skillfully crafted (in your variant, rose gold) with flush sapphire crystal surfaces, allowing a continuous visual flow from front to back. The tripartite case is sealed with nitrile O‑rings and assembled via 20 grade‑5 titanium spline screws with 316L steel washers for durability. 
On the skeleton dial, you’ll find color-coded chronograph elements each control, hand, and register is tinted to enhance legibility and visual balance. The artistic integration of form and function is a hallmark of Mille’s high-end aesthetic.

Movement and Performance

At its core is the CRMC‑1 in‑house calibre, a skeletonized automatic flyback chronograph movement. It features hours, minutes, small seconds, date, flyback chronograph, and a function indicator. 
Richard Mille designed a clever dual tilting-pinion system, separating the chronograph mechanism from timekeeping to minimise energy draw and preserve accuracy. 
The movement delivers about 50 hours of power reserve ±10% (when chronograph is engaged or not) and is mounted on elastomeric shock blocks to reduce impact stress on the mechanism. 
A free-sprung balance and skeleton platinum rotor (on ceramic bearings) further enhance its performance and durability.
