Watch Consignment Dubai - Consign Your Rolex, Patek or Richard Mille
Watch consignment Dubai sellers use to reach an international buyer network instead of one local counter. No upfront fee. You keep ownership until the watch sells.
Most owners arrive with the same sentence: I have been offered a price — is that fair? That number is a buyout, and the dealer's margin is already inside it. Watch consignment Dubai works the other way round. We authenticate the watch, agree a price with you, offer it to an international buyer network, and you keep ownership until it sells.
This page covers watches only — Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Cartier, Jacob & Co and selected independents. If you are selling bags, or clearing several categories at once, start at our consignment service.
Consignment suits the owner holding a low watch buyback Dubai quote who wants to test the market, the collector releasing a single piece, and the seller of a rare or transition reference most local dealers will not price confidently. A buyout is faster. Consignment usually returns more. That trade-off is the whole decision.

Comparison
Consignment vs Buyout — Which Gets You More
| Route | Speed | What you receive | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyout from a dealer | Same day to a few days | One cash figure, set by the buyer | Anyone who needs the money now |
| Consignment with us | Time to find the right buyer | Market price less agreed commission | Sellers who want the higher net |
| Selling privately | Unpredictable | Full asking price, if it sells | Sellers with time and expertise |
A dealer's buyout is built backwards from what they can resell the watch for. Their margin, carrying cost, financing and reconditioning come off the top before you see a number. Consignment removes that margin from the equation: the watch is offered at the price the market pays, and you pay an agreed commission on the result instead of accepting a wholesale figure up front. Demand is not the constraint — the pre-owned watch market keeps outgrowing new watch sales (Deloitte).
The second difference is who is bidding. A local buyout is limited to one shop's clientele and appetite. Luxury watch consignment with us puts the watch in front of collectors and trade buyers internationally, in parallel. On a strong reference, that is where the spread sits.
Brands
What We Consign
Six families, plus a long tail of independents:
- Rolex — Submariner, Daytona, Datejust, GMT-Master II, Day-Date and Sky-Dweller, across our Rolex men's and Rolex women's collections. To sell Rolex Dubai references at market, this is the channel.
- Patek Philippe — Nautilus, Aquanaut, Calatrava and complications, held in the Patek Philippe men's and Patek Philippe women's collections. How to sell Patek Philippe watches, reference by reference.
- Audemars Piguet — Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore in steel, gold and ceramic, split across the Audemars Piguet men's and Audemars Piguet women's collections.
- Richard Mille — where provenance and configuration decide everything; see the Richard Mille men's collection.
- Cartier — Santos, Tank, Ballon Bleu and Panthère, where sell Cartier watch demand is steady rather than seasonal, in the Cartier men's watches and Cartier women's watches collections.
- Jacob & Co — including the Jacob & Co women's pieces, and independent makers, priced case by case.
Everything we list sits in the same register as our current pre-owned selection and the watches collection.
We decline three things, consistently: watches with unverifiable provenance; watches with replacement movements that were not disclosed at the point of sale; and any watch with a removed or altered serial number.
Consign your watch with a clear history and the process is straightforward — conceal a replacement and the valuation collapses the moment we open the caseback.
Demand
Which Watches Sell Best in Dubai
Demand for pre-owned watches in Dubai splits two ways: by gender, and by reference. Our watches collection is organised on that first axis, because the two sides of the market rarely compete for the same piece.
The men's collections and the women's collections carry different buyer profiles. Men's lines attract buyers chasing a known reference — a steel Nautilus, a Daytona, a Royal Oak — so price is set almost entirely by reference, metal and production year. Women's lines move on wearability as much as on reference: case size, dial colour, bracelet, and how the watch sits on a smaller wrist. Price bands are wider and taste shifts faster there.
Size and configuration decide which side of the market a watch belongs to, not the way it was launched. A 36mm or smaller reference often sells into the women's market regardless of how it was marketed, and that changes the buyer pool — and the price — a watch can attract. The same reference in a larger case, or on a bracelet buyers read as masculine, stays on the other side. We price against the side that pays more, not the catalogue it came from.
Pricing
What Drives a Watch's Resale Value
Six factors set the number. They explain why two apparently identical watches clear at very different prices.
- 01
Reference and Demand
A reference with a waiting list — a steel Nautilus, a Daytona on Oysterflex — trades at or above retail secondhand. A case-size or metal variant nobody asked for can trade well below it, inside the same model line. We compare your reference against live comparable sales, not a brand-level multiplier, because the brand alone says little about what your watch will bring.
- 02
Box and Papers
A full set — box, warranty card, original invoice — typically carries a 10–25% premium over the same watch sold alone, per Bob's Watches. On a five-figure watch that is material. A watch without papers still sells; it sells to a different buyer at a different number.
- 03
Condition and Polish
Collectors pay for original case geometry. Polishing removes metal and softens lug edges, and heavy polishing cannot be reversed — Bob's Watches treats it as a common, quiet way owners lose value. An unpolished watch with honest wear often beats a refinished one that photographs better. We shoot the case as found.
- 04
Service History
Documentation matters more than the badge on the invoice. A dated service receipt listing the parts replaced cuts a buyer's perceived risk. A factory service reads as official; on vintage pieces, replacing original parts can hurt more than it helps, and Gray & Sons notes the impact turns on the watch, not the provider. Disclose everything.
- 05
Dial and Configuration
Dial variants are where the multipliers live. The discontinued turquoise Oyster Perpetual 41 trades at roughly one-and-a-half to two times its standard-dial equivalent, and vintage Stella and genuine Tiffany-signed dials sit in a class of their own, as Bob's Watches sets out. Colour, printing, lume and hands must all suit the reference and its production window.
- 06
Year and Production Changes
A transition reference bridges two generations — the Submariner 16800, the GMT-Master 16750 — combining older character with newer specification. Rescapement is clear that the label is informal and that value comes from scarcity and originality, not the word. A recognised factory-original variant draws interest that the same watch with an incorrect service part will not.

How We Authenticate Every Watch
Authentication happens in person, before valuation, and is never subcontracted. A verified watch sells at a verified price — which is exactly why consignment can out-earn a buyout.
- 01Movement and calibreCaseback opened, movement compared against the reference and its production period.
- 02Case and serial numberEngraving checked for position, font and finish. A serial alone proves nothing; counterfeiters engrave genuine numbers, which is why Bob's Watches treats the movement as the decisive evidence.
- 03Dial and handsPrinting, concentricity, lume and hand geometry checked against the reference and year.
- 04Bracelet and claspEnd links, stamping, stretch and clasp codes.
- 05Water resistance and timekeepingTimegrapher readings for rate, amplitude and beat error.
- 06Service history reviewDocumented work, parts replaced, original parts retained.
We share the findings, including anything that lowers the valuation. You decide what happens next.
The process
How Our Watch Consignment Service Works
Five steps. Nothing is listed, altered or discounted without your agreement.
- 01SubmissionStart your consignment on our consignment platform and send photographs, the reference number, and details of box and papers.
- 02Authentication and valuationFor core references we meet in Dubai or Abu Dhabi and run the full mechanical check: caseback open, movement inspected, timegrapher reading taken, and a written condition report covering case, crystal, dial and bracelet.
- 03Pricing agreementWe propose a price band and confirm your minimum. Buyers negotiate with us, never with you.
- 04Listing to the buyer networkPhotography, condition report and full specification are published, and the watch is offered privately to collectors and dealers internationally.
- 05Sale and payoutBuyer funds are received and cleared. The sale then opens a 7-day return window, counted from the sale date in Dubai. Once it ends, the commission is deducted and the balance is released.
Fees
Our Commission Structure
Commission is tiered by final sale value, so the rate on a high-value piece is not the rate on an entry-level one. The rate that applies is the one that matches the final sale price, applied to the whole price rather than in slices. Every figure is agreed in writing before listing.
| Final sale value | Commission |
|---|---|
| Under AED 10,000 | 25% |
| AED 10,000 to under AED 50,000 | 18% |
| AED 50,000 and above | 15% |
What you receive is the final sale price minus the commission. Three examples:
| Sale price | Rate | Commission | You receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| AED 8,000 | 25% | AED 2,000 | AED 6,000 |
| AED 20,000 | 18% | AED 3,600 | AED 16,400 |
| AED 60,000 | 15% | AED 9,000 | AED 51,000 |
- There is no upfront fee, and no charge for photography, listing, storage or relisting — if the watch does not sell, you owe nothing.
- The commission is the only amount deducted from the final sale price.
- Commission covers in-house authentication, photography, the written condition report, listing and buyer outreach, insured storage, negotiation, shipping coordination and payout.
- Priced this way, pre-owned watch consignment is a share of the result, not a cost before it. The same structure applies to bags and watches in the multi-category consignment service.
Timing
Payouts and Timelines
Watch consignment UAE timelines are set by the reference, not by the city. Core references in strong condition — a Submariner, a Datejust, a Santos — move first, because the buyer pool is widest. Rare and highly specific pieces take longer: fewer buyers, firmer expectations on condition and provenance, often a cross-border negotiation. If your goal is to sell luxury watch Dubai pieces quickly, a buyout will always be faster; consignment is for the seller who can wait for market price.
Payouts are made in AED, EUR, USD or HKD, once the 7-day return window that follows the sale has ended. If several of your watches have sold, the payouts due to you are grouped. For international sales we coordinate insured shipping and prepare the export documentation; Dubai Customs sets out the general requirements, and they differ depending on whether a watch travels as accompanied personal property or as a declared shipment.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Not always — better on price, worse on speed. A buyout pays immediately but reflects the dealer's margin. Consignment takes longer and typically returns more, because the watch sells at market price and you pay an agreed commission. If you need funds today, take the buyout.
Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Cartier and Jacob & Co, plus selected independent makers. We decline watches with unverifiable provenance, undisclosed replaced movements, or removed serial numbers.
Yes. Each brand is held as separate men's and women's collections, because the buyer pool on each side is different — different references, sizes and price bands. A watch is placed in whichever market pays more, regardless of how it was originally marketed. A 36mm reference or a Cartier Panthère may clear higher on the women's side; a large steel sports reference usually sells into the men's.
Yes. A full set typically carries a 10–25% premium, so a watch alone sells for less — but it still sells, on condition, reference and service history. Box and papers change the price, not whether the watch is saleable.
It depends on the reference, condition and price far more than on the city. Core references sell first; rare pieces can take longer. Your minimum price is the main lever on timing.
Only where the watch benefits and you agree first. We report condition honestly, and if a service or light cosmetic work will lift the price above its cost, we will say so. We do not polish a case by default — original geometry is worth more to collectors than a fresh finish.
Yes. You agree a minimum acceptable price before listing and we will not sell below it. Buyers negotiate with us, not with you.
